This week's special guest is author Beverly Patt. She has book coming out in April called Best Friends Forever: A World War II Scrapbook. I ask her how she handled being an "outsider" and writing about the Japanese experience.

That sounds like a very interesting creative process. I think today's 21st century kids have a new an unique way of navigating differences in cultures, often with in their own families. They will probably appreciate the third person perspective of a character from history facing similar challenges. Looking forward to reading it!
